Dew and pachyderms and spiky-haired wonders

I would never have thought of dew.

Or pachyderms.

Or spiky-haired birds.

I would never have thought of cool-night condensation after a warm day, forming glistening droplets on delicate leaves. Or of a nose with 40,000 muscles, so strong that it can, even in a small elephant, lift a large vending machine (and simultaneously smell water several miles away.) And the spiky-haired crane, whose very appearance makes me laugh: Was he created just for fun?

I wouldn’t have thought of dew or elephants or birds with funny faces. I just wouldn’t have.

Our God “does great things beyond searching out,

and marvelous things beyond number.”

Job 9:10

And here’s another:

I would never have thought of alpacas.

About Jill

I'm a wife, mom to three beautiful children, and work as children's ministry director at Redeemer PCA in Athens, GA, a place our family treasures as our church home. It's been thirty years since the Lord saved me, and to this day I'm astounded at His steadfast love shed upon unfaithful me. My hope would be that I might speak and write in ways God would use to soften hearts toward Him, that we would together be enamored by the glorious beauty of Jesus and awakened to His love unimagined. Thanks so much for reading!
